A new report is suggesting that the iPhone 6 will have Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities, enabling integration with other NFC devices. In repeat of a long standing rumor that has affected the last few generations of iPhone, Brightwire claims to have sources that suggest that the technology, used for electronic payments, will be integrated into the next generation iPhone, and that Apple has already got an agreement in place with China UnionPay.
The rumor is unlikely to be true, particularly since Apple has already expressed a relative unenthusiam into including NFC into their devices. However, the rumor continues to circulate, particularly since the integration of TouchID into the iPhone 5S, a technology which could be used beyond unlocking the iPhone, into mobile payment authentication.
