The release of a significant software update to the latest version of OS X, 10.9 Mavericks, could be just around the corner. Apple has apparently today seeded an OS X 10.9.1 software update to AppleCare employees for testing (via 9to5Mac). In the past, such a deployment has indicated that the company is preparing to release the update to the public, although it is not yet clear when this would take place.
OS X 10.9.1 is expected to fix a number of issues related to the use of GMail email accounts in OS X, and also contains a number of fixes for the Mail app itself. The update also contains smaller bug fixes including stability improvements to VoiceOver and Safari.
Apple has previously issued small updates to Mavericks to provide small bug fixes for using GMail, and is expected that 10.9.1 will provide even greater support and stability.
