A new report is suggesting that Apple is preparing to release an iWatch with two different display sizes for consumers. According to the Korea Herald (via MacRumors), an analyst with NPD DisplaySearch, David Hsieh, is claiming that the company will be releasing iWatch devices with both a 1.7-inch display and a smaller 1.3-inch display. The resolutions of both displays are said to be 320 x 320 pixels meaning that the pixel density of the larger iWatch will be slightly lower than the smaller device.
The displays will apparently be OLED and will be targeted towards specific sexes i.e. the larger watch for males with larger wrists and the smaller device for females. A key question surrounds recent speculation that the displays may be flexible, but there has been no confirmation offered on this. The timescale for the release of the device has also not been detailed although recent rumors have pointed towards the second half of 2014 as being the potential timeframe for consumer release.
