A new report is adding fuel to claims that Apple is planning to release an iPhone model with significantly larger screen in the coming months. According to the site C Technology (via MacRumors), the company is currently in the process of testing prototypes of the device, which apparently sports a 4.9 inch display, much larger than the 4 inch display found on the iPhone 5C and 5S. The claim comes on the heels of other reports suggesting that Apple is looking to increase the size of the screen in new iPhone models.
The most recent rumor surrounding the iPhone screen size in future models actually contrasts quite strongly with this current report. Earlier this month, Bloomberg suggested that Apple would be releasing iPhone models with screen sizes of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches. More significantly, the report claimed that these devices would have curved screens and improved touch sensitivity.
Given the discrepancy between the two rumors, it is likely that Apple is still in the early prototyping stages for their next generation iPhone devices, and the final public release versions are yet to be determined.
