A new report is suggesting that Apple has been working on a brand new iPad device that has a screen measurement of 12.9 inches diagonally. The new device, a significant increase in size over the current 9.7 inch iPad Air, will apparently be released in March of next year (via PadNews). According to the site, the device is already being tested by Apple supplier Foxconn. The site also suggests that the name of the new iPad will be the ‘iPad maxi’, a highly unlikely speculation.
The site also reports that an 11.4 inch iPad has also been tested, and that a keyboard adapter could also be launched alongside. This would place the larger iPad in a similar vein as the Surface and Surface 2 tablets. There is no information on the veracity of the source, but Apple has, in the past, been rumored to be testing larger screens for tablets so the potential release date is the only new piece of information.
