A new report has published images of what is claimed to the the Home button for the next generation iPhone 5S, a device that is expected to be released this Fall. The pictures have been published by TechKiddy (via MacRumors), and are of higher quality than those seen before. However, contrary to recent rumors suggesting that the iPhone 5S would be in possession of a fingerprint sensor underneath the Home button, the pictures of the purported Home button components for the new device show no signs of such capability.
The images do not show any more details than have been revealed in previous leaks of the Home button components, but provide higher resolution pictures of the component. That said, however, Apple is also rumored to be launching a low-cost iPhone ’5C’ at the same time. It could be understandable, therefore, that some components destined for the 5C are being mistakenly identified as components for the 5S.
However, if this Home button assembly is indeed for the iPhone 5S, it is unlikely that the new iPhone will contain any fingerprint sensing technology.
