Apple has apparently been making major efforts to test the functionality of an iPad with a 13 inch screen, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. According to their sources, Apple screen suppliers have been asked to provide displays for iPad devices that are around 13 inches diagonally, as compared to the current iPad screen size of 9.7 inches. In addition, and consistent with some previous rumors, the company is also apparently testing larger iPhone displays presumably in excess of 4.5 inches when measured diagonally.
The publication is careful to note that these screen sizes may never make it to public release but acknowledge that their apparently reliable sources are saying that these screen sizes are being routinely tested. The report also reiterates previous reports that the iPhone 5S, released this Fall, will have the same screen size as the current model and that the new iPad will also be of similar screen size, albeit thinner.
