Apple has apparently been looking to partner with fuel cell firms with a view to using fuel cells in future MacBook devices, according to a new report from The Daily Mail. The report suggests that the company is looking into forming a possible partnership with Intelligent Energy, a fuel cell technology firm that has apparently ‘bought a bundle of patents in tandem with a major international electronics company’, infomation that was revealed through financial filings.
Although the report states that Apple is the company that has the partnership in the patents, this information comes from a separate source and it is not clear how the information was obtained. Apple has itself has been previously rumored to be interested in fuel cell technology for powering its mobile devices, but since the publication in question has a limited record in providing accurate information on pre-release Apple technology.
